Christine Mayo Brannan

February 18, 1937 - October 2, 2020

Christine Mayo Brannan, 83, of Columbus, TX; passed away on October 2, 2020 after a long battle with Lewy body dementia. She was born February 18, 1937 in McCaulley, Fisher County, TX; Christine was the daughter of the late Odell Dwight Mayo and Essie Lee Mayo.

A lifelong homemaker, devoted wife and mom; Christine was passionate about her unique southern cooking and keeping an immaculate house. She loved to entertain her husband, children and grandchildren every holiday with a large spread of Texas comfort food and good conversation.

Christine is survived by the love of her life, Delbert Benton Brannan, whom she married 65 years ago; two daughters, Debbie Lindsey and her husband Dennis Lindsey of Katy, Texas; Laura Wharton and her husband Drew Wharton of Magnolia, TX; and preceded in death by her son Tommy Brannan.

Six grandchildren: Stephanie Brannan, Steve Brannan, Tonya Brannan, Chrissi Lindsey, Brannan Wharton, Bryce Wharton; Four great grandchildren: Tyler Brannan, Layla Brannan, Elliana Christine Lindsey, Evelyn Allene Lindsey; Siblings: Thomas Mayo of Farmington, NM; Bennie Tucker and his wife Faye Tucker of San Antonio, TX.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Friday, October 9, 2020 at Henneke Funeral Home, Columbus, TX with Associate Pastor Josh Shell officiating. Burial will follow at Odd Fellows Rest Cemetery. A visitation will be held before the funeral from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM.

Serving as pallbearers: Drew Wharton, Brannan Wharton, Bryce Wharton, Steve Brannan, Dennis Lindsey and Chris Spinella.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made for Alzheimer's Disease Research, Department of Development, Mayo Clinic, 200 First St. SW, Rochester, MN 55905.
