Henry F. Kunz, age 94, passed away on February 2, 2020 in Hallettsville, Texas at the Hallettsville Rehab and Nursing Center.

He was born to Joseph and Lena Kunz on November 9, 1925 in Schulenburg, TX. Henry proudly served in the U.S. Army in WWII and was an antiaircraft gunner and deployed to the Philippines. He could easily recall stories of what happened there and loved to share stories with everyone. He never left his house without his WWII cap and always beamed when someone said..."Thank you for your service."

After his military service, he married Margaret Mozisek on January 14, 1947. They settled in Columbus, Texas where they raised their family and also started Henry's Refrigeration and Appliance Service. He was fondly called "Mr. Henry" by those that became his customers and friends locally and in the surrounding communities.

He was a 3rd degree Knights of Columbus member, as well as a member of Rotary Club, St Anthony Catholic Church and Columbus Chamber of Commerce.

Henry loved to spend time in the outdoors; gardening was his passion, he also enjoyed fishing and deer hunting. Henry could always be found circled around the table playing poker with his grandkids or the lotto.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years, Margaret Mozisek Kunz; his parents, Joseph and Lena Kunz; infant son, Henry F. Kunz, Jr.; brother, Bennie Kunz, and great granddaughter, Halleigh Kunz.

He is survived by his son, James H. Kunz and his wife, Linda of Bryan, TX, daughter, Betty Cady and husband Gary of Corpus Christi, TX, son Delbert Kunz and wife Charlsie of San Antonio, TX, son Henry L. Kunz of Columbus, daughter Kathleen Weige of Columbus, TX, and daughter Debbie James and husband Gary of Corpus Christi, TX and his sister, Alice Peck Schultz of Weimar, TX and sister-in-law Bessie Mozisek Dornak of Hallettsville, TX.
