Raymond Navarro, Sr., age 100, of Cat Spring, TX passed away Monday, April 1, 2019. He attended Schulenburg High School. Raymond joined the United States Army in 1943 where he attained the rank of Staff Sergeant and was also a Purple Heart recipient. His company was a part of the fourth wave to land in Normandy on D-Day. He served until 1945 until the end of the war. Upon coming home he married Rosa Castilla and settled in Houston, TX where he managed a shoe store and began a family. After moving to Cat Spring, with his family, he and his wife owned a successful hair salon in Sealy, TX. In his later years, he enjoyed ranching and spending time with his children and many grandchildren.

Raymond is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Rosie (Castilla) Navarro; daughter, Judy Navarro; son-in-law, Frank Hluchan; parents, Incarnacion and Leanor (Lozano) Navarro; brothers, Refugio and Fred Navarro; and sisters, Leanor Juarez, Jesusita Salazar, and Anita Amesquita.

He is survived by son Raymond Navarro, Jr. (Barbara); daughter, Mary Jane Hluchan; son, Richard Navarro; daughter, Cynthia Ann Virnau (Mike); son, Robert James Navarro (Fallon); daughter, Sylvia Consuelo Foerster; and daughter, Theresa Ann Duncan; grandchildren, Michael Virnau, Christopher Hluchan, Tara Carr, Matthew Virnau, Ross Navarro, Nicholas Hluchan, Hofmann Foerster, Greg Hluchan, Brittany Foerster, Resa Navarro, Erica Virnau, Leah Brandes, Razzi Navarro, Noah Rodriguez, and Randi Jo Navarro; and great-grandchildren, Hudson and Tessa Virnau, Rylee and Ava Carr, Jhett and Juleen Virnau, Lucas Hluchan, Cason, Axel, Dash, and Eloise Foerster, and Granger and Gideon Hluchan.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 3, 2019, from 5-7pm; and on Thursday from 8-10am at Henneke Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 4, 2019 at 10am at Henneke Funeral Home, 1515 Montezuma St, Columbus, TX.

A graveside burial will follow at 1pm at Our Lady of Guadalupe Cemetery in Seguin, TX.

Pallbearers are his grandsons, Michael and Matthew Virnau, Nick, Chris, and Greg Hluchan, Ross Navarro, Hoffman Foerster, Noah Rodriguez, and Matt Carr.

Serving as honorary pallbearers are his great grandsons, Lucas and Granger Hluchan, Hudson Virnau, Cason and Axel, and Dash Foerster.
