I am a Veteran.Frank J. Kasmiersky, Jr.

November 21, 1929 - December 5, 2018

Frank J. Kasmiersky, Jr., of Garwood, passed away on December 5, 2018 at the age of 89. He was born on November 21, 1929 to Frank Joe Kasmiersky, Sr. and Emilie (Bubela) Kasmiersky in Nada, TX. On April 14, 1952 he married Anna Kremling.

Frank served in the Army from November 6, 1951 until October 29, 1953, including a tour in Korea during the Korean War.

Frank retired from Garwood Implement & Supply/Lehrer Interests in Garwood where he was employed for over 34 years in various positions.

He was a member of St, Mary's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council 3371, honorary member of Garwood Volunteer Fire Department and a member of K.J.T.

Frank had a very large garden and he was known in the community for sharing the spoils of his garden. If you found a plastic bag of vegetables hanging on your back doorknob when you got home from work, it probably came from Frank.

Frank loved to cook at home, especially for others.

Frank enjoyed children immensely. He was known as Santa Clause to many generations of Garwood families. He was a frequent host to neighbor children and they always left with a bag of candy. He thoroughly enjoyed sharing hunting and fishing experiences with his two grandsons. Frank also had a soft spot in his heart for his little furry grand puppy named "Sassy", who came to visit him often, even while he was in the nursing home.

Frank is survived by his wife Anna Kremling Kasmiersky of Garwood, TX; daughters, Suzie Ramsey and husband Dennis of Garwood, TX, and Laurie Hucker and husband John of Chesterfield, VA; son, Rusty Kasmiersky and wife Donna of Coppell, TX; sisters, Leona Swoboda and husband Bill of El Campo, TX, Ernestine Schneider and husband Ed Lee of Nada, TX, and Janie Popp and husband August of Nada, TX; brother, Raymond Kasmiersky and wife Margaret of Sealy, TX; 2 grandchildren, Alex Zeveski and Ryan Kasmiersky; and 1 great grandson, Bryant Kasmiersky.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Kasmiersky, Sr. and Emilie Bubela Kasmiersky; infant son, John Paul Kasmiersky; and four sisters, Annie Socha, Clara Lobpries, Julia Zbranek, and Mary Hoffman.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 7, 2018 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Henneke Funeral Home, Columbus, TX; and at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Nada on Saturday from 9:30 am to 11:00 am. K of C and Parish Rosary will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2018, 10:30 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Nada.

Funeral services will follow on Saturday at 11:00 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Nada with Rev. Peter Yeboah-Amanfo officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Nada.

Pallbearers are Thierry Hoffmann, Alex Zeveski, Ryan Kasmiersky, Brian Center, Bryan Popp and Darby Hoffmann.

Memorials may be given to Garwood Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 131, Garwood, TX 77442 or charity of your choice.
