A person who enjoyed working as an officer. He made those working for him feel confident in his leadership, open to recommendations and trusted by his subordinates. I’m sure he is on the front lines of heaven as he was on Earth. Thank you Paul.

I am very saddened and only today found out about the passing of Paul. I was his first training officer when he graduated from the Houston Police Academy. He was a fine officer and I was proud to watch him continue through his career with HPD. My sincere condolences to his family. I know he will be missed.

My deepest condolences goes out to the Weido Family. Sgt. Weido was a good Sgt. to me in the Jail at SE. He always supported my Avon Breast Cancer Walks every year even when he left the Jail and went to Westside. My he rest in peace. I will miss from calling him and saying its that time again for the walk and he say send me the information again. Family you are in my prayers. Be Blessed.

So sorry to hear of the passing of our brother in blue. Prayers & comfort for Paul's entire family.

Steve and I have known Paul since he was a rookie at Westside. Worked many years with him on the Special Olympics Torch Run with Martha & Terrell Crumpler.

Paul was one of the hardest workers and always made everyone laugh! Love you bro! We will meet again one day.

To Paul's kids, your Dad made a difference in so many lives. He always talked about you & loved you. You will see him again.

I had the honor of meeting Paul while working for Starbucks as he and the other Sgts would come and sit with us while we closed down the store. For the 3-4 years I knew him, he was a lighthearted, kind, and talkative man who never met anyone he didn't get along with. My condolences to his family. May your soul Rest In Peace Paul.

Paul, I sure miss you and your pleasant personality as we worked together back in 1989 at Westside Patrol. I was visiting Houston last week and had to get back to Wyoming . We sure caught a few bad guys in the good old days ! Rest in Peace Brother and may Heaven gain a great warrior ! Your friend, Dan

Paul was such a special person - he will be sorely missed. My husband and I taught at Columbus High School for 25 years, and we both had the pleasure of teaching Paul, and my husband was his football coach. The Class of 1985 will always hold a special place in our hearts. Paul always had a smile for us - he liked to beat us at racquetball back in the days of the Health and Fitness Center. It's hard to believe he is gone - our deepest condolences to his family.
